About the Samish River

The Samish River is in the Puget Sound region of Washington, near Burlington.

Chinook are the main catch here. Anglers reported an average of about 6,100 harvested Chinook a year from 2004 to 2022. Most of that catch comes in September. Smaller numbers of coho, pink salmon, chum and winter steelhead are also reported. These figures count harvested fish only, not fish caught and released. Washington catch figures follow the WDFW report year, which runs from April to March.
