Floating beads are hollow and more translucent, and the bead alone floats, which suits drift fishing and bobber dogging. Sinking beads sink on their own, which suits fishing suspended under a bobber. Neutrally buoyant beads neither float nor sink on their own and are a good choice for bobber dogging. Balanced buoyancy beads float, but they are tuned to be neutrally buoyant once you add the recommended hook.

Use a 1/0 Octopus hook with the 16mm bead and a 2/0 Octopus hook with the 18mm bead.

Floating and sinking beads come in 8mm to 14mm, neutrally buoyant beads in 8mm to 18mm, and balanced buoyancy beads in 16mm and 18mm.

The size of bead you choose mostly comes down to personal preference and water conditions. Generally, it is better to use smaller sizes when the water is low and clear. Use larger sizes when the water is high and dirty.

Yes. Each pack of Mercurial Beads includes two rings of bead stops, 12 stops in all. Extra packs of 60 bead stops are sold separately, and they also work as bobber stops.

The Spin-Roe is a hard, hollow, floating spinning lure with a round, bead-like profile that seems to change color as it spins. Its line hole sits slightly off center, which adds a wobble. Face the narrow end upriver for a faster spin, or downriver for a slower spin with more wobble.

The Robolize Okie Drifter is made to be a close match to the original Grizzly/Maxwell Okie Drifter. These are hard, hollow, and translucent like they were before they were made from foam. One difference is they are now one piece and won't split in half at the seam where the originals were glued together. Sizes run from #1 to #5.

Yes. The clear Okie Drifter comes without the glossy clear coat so that paint or dye sticks better, and an airbrush works especially well. It is the same base used to make several of our hand-painted colors.

It depends on personal preference. If you are unsure, the x2 is a good place to start. The x2 is 1 1/4 inches wide and 2 1/8 inches tall, rated 1/8 oz to 1/2 oz. The s3 is 1 inch wide and 2 7/8 inches tall, rated 1/8 oz to 3/8 oz. The x3 is 1 1/4 inches wide and 2 7/8 inches tall, rated 1/2 oz to 3/4 oz. Each one is concave on one end and convex on the other, so you can rig it either direction to match the water speed.

Both hoops handle any size fish. The Standard hoop is easier to collapse, but it can be harder to net a fish in faster water, so it suits softer current, boats and kayaks. The Pro hoop performs better in faster water and is harder to collapse, though it gets easier with practice.

No. The figures count harvested fish only, so catch and release is not included.

Washington catch figures follow WDFW's report year, which runs from April to March.

Each river page shows live river levels and flows from NOAA gauges, weather forecasts, tides where they apply, sunrise and sunset, a map of the river, and years of catch history by month and by year.
