About the Bogachiel River

The Bogachiel River is in one of Washington's coastal river basins, near Forks. It flows into the Quillayute River.

Winter steelhead are the main catch here. Anglers reported an average of about 1,600 harvested winter steelhead a year from 2004 to 2022. Most of that catch comes in December. Coho average about 270 a year and peak in October. Chinook average about 120 a year and peak in October. Smaller numbers of summer steelhead, sockeye and chum are also reported. These figures count harvested fish only, not fish caught and released. Washington catch figures follow the WDFW report year, which runs from April to March.
